8K a year Wet Utility company in need of an experienced Estimator who will provide knowledge of cost and benefits that support profitable business decisions and be able to adapt quickly.
Ideal candidate must be thorough and apt in managing relationships with key persons including working closely with our Project Manger and Superintendent.
Prepare pricing estimates on new projects and estimate prices on change orders on existing contracts.
Salary is negotiable! (TOP PAY!)
Responsibilities:
Review and evaluate cost estimates for a variety of projects Communicate with trade partners and team members regarding new and current projects Be mindful of job start dates to insure workflow and availability in the field Prepare estimates in detail for all products Ensure timely completion of estimates and follow up for bid tabs.
Understand scope of work to bid Manage bid pricing from all vendors Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors Gather documentation relevant to proposals, including blue prints and specifications
Qualifications:
At least 5
years estimating commercial Utility projects at a successful level.
Knowledge and field experience associated with wet utilities.
Good verbal and written communication skills for dealing with contractors, suppliers, purchasing, sales and others.
Ability to read and interpret technical and legal documents.
Ability to assemble the scope of work with required information including inclusions, exclusions and qualifications.
Knowledge of terminology customarily used in construction and knowledge of the use of computer and estimating software packages.
Microsoft software applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Experience with HCSS - HeavyBid and OnSceen Takeoff software.
Knowledge of working within the City of Austin, including pulling and maintaining Right-Of-Way permits Job Type:
